Mecca, Saudi Arabia

Al Masjid Al Harām:

Rabi` Al-Thani 8, 1429 AH

Al Masjid Al Harām is open on the top and has a yard which, like the yards of Istanbul's Masjid's, is surrounded by three rows of domes. The domes number five hundred and are supported by 462 pillars, of which 218 are made of slender marble, 224 are carved from a stone called Hajjar-i-shams, six or eight angled, and yellow-colours. Masjid Al Harām has an oblong form, its north wall is 164 meters long, south wall 146 meters long, east wall 106 meters long, and west wall 124 meters long. Saudis in 1955 A.D. extended these four walls, so that Safā and Marwah were included in the Masjid. Hence, the Masjid became 160,000 square meters Click here To Read More Of This Article..

Masjid Al Aqsa:

Rabi` Al-Thani 8, 1429 AH

Masjid Al Aqsa is the second Masjid ever to be build for the sole worship of Allāh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Throughout the ages Al Masjid Al Aqsa has suffered many  transformations and destruction. When Umar Ibn Khattab Radi-Allahu 'anhu entered Bait Al-Maqdis in 15 Ah he ordered that the area, where he believed the Masjid location had been, to be cleared to start the building of the initial structure of the Masjid. The actual building started in 18 AH and the Masjid was made out of timber Click here To Read More Of This Article..
